Localisation est une série sculpturale née d’un retour profond de l’artiste à ses racines culturelles et géographiques. Métis d’origine congolaise, formé en Europe, Lionel Héritier Apenela a longtemps évolué dans les domaines de la publicité, du marketing et de la communication, avant de se consacrer à la création.


Ce parcours l’a amené à explorer, avec force et sensibilité, la manière de raconter l’histoire des lieux, des cultures et des appartenances.

Réalisées dans le village ancestral de Nsiamfumu, à l’embouchure du fleuve Congo, au bord de l'Océan Atlantique, dans la province du Kongo-Central, en RDC, en collaboration avec des artisans locaux, ces œuvres sont façonnées à partir de matières brutes du territoire.

Elles traduisent un geste artistique d’ancrage, à rebours des dynamiques globalisantes de la mondialisation.

Ces œuvres sont autant de méditations (et d'invitations à la méditation) sur la transformation intime, le réenracinement, la mémoire, et l’authenticité des lieux.
Elles s’inscrivent dans un dialogue vivant entre héritage et modernité, entre circulation et enracinement.


Une invitation à se recentrer, à se reconnecter à l’essentiel.
